We own a small business called (ho-dee-ay) which develops photo-based card games without rules for people living with dementia. Each set has a theme with photos from a single photographer. Last year, knowing our next theme was going to be about cars, we went searching for a photographer. We found Paul through his Instagram account after hours and hours of searching hashtags. Before coming across his account, we looked at thousands of photos. There were many beautiful ones, but nothing was quite right. Then came @pmhimages_cars. We were immediately drawn to how real the photos felt--how authentic. They were vivid, high-quality, sometimes gritty, and always approachable. We felt like we were at the car shows he was documenting, which is exactly what we wanted for our customers. So we took a chance and messaged him. When Paul wrote back that not only was he interested, but that he had experience with dementia in his family, we knew we had found our guy. After working with him over the next few months to select the right photos for the set, we discovered that we had found a photographer who cared not only about his four-wheeled subjects, but also about the humans who would be looking at the photos. We feel so lucky to have Paul and his amazing cars as a part of our (ho-dee-ay) team!
